Does life feel like its getting on top of you?
Could you benefit from a place to take some time-out?
... to explore your thoughts and feelings
... to make changes to your life
... to get back to being the person you want to be
My name is Rebecca and I am an experienced and accredited professional therapist working in mental health for over 20 years. I have worked in a number of NHS settings, for the last 12 years I have been working as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist (CBT) and, additionally, for the last 3 years as an Interpersonal Psychotherapist (IPT) . Prior to this I worked as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN).
Throughout our lives we can experience difficult times, such as feeling stressed and anxious, or we might experience significant life changes such as redundancy or bereavement, or having a hard time with our relationships. Sometimes these difficulties can get on top of us and start to affect our mood and self esteem and we might need a little help to get ourselves back on track. Counselling / Psychotherapy can provide that. Therapy can help to increase self understanding and give us tools to manage. For therapy to be effective it is important that you can connect with your therapist, that you feel safe, comfortable and understood. The relationship is just as important as the therapy. I believe that warmth, kindness, compassion, empathy, openness, and a willingness to be alongside you are valuable attributes of being a psychotherapist. I want you to feel hopeful that your future can improve. My training and expertise will enable us to explore your problems together and, at your pace, we will collaboratively explore ways of making changes to enable you to move forward.
I work with individuals on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully.
